This is my third year as a Warrior and I love it!  My goal is to encourage students to find a personal connection with language and culture. This year I’m teaching Spanish 2, 3, and AP.  I sponsor the Spanish National Honor Society and the THS Chapter of Infocus.

Educational Experience: I grew up in Chicago and graduated with a BA in English from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. I received a Spanish endorsement from Auburn University and a M.Ed in Spanish for Secondary Education from the University of Alabama. I studied abroad in Mexico and Spain, but the best experience was leading two student tours to Spain, Italy, and France.

Leadership positions: I am currently on the board as Parliamentarian for the Alabama World Language Association and serving as an instructor for the Weekend Immersed in Language Development.  In the past, I served 10 years as editor for the AWLA Newsletter and as Past President for AATSP (American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese).  In 2009, I received a nomination for the SCOLT Educator of Excellence award.

Family:   I am married to my best friend, and we have two daughters, two sons- in- law, and a large Boxer Hound. We enjoy spending time together!
