My name is Brendan Gould and this is my second year teaching Chemistry and Honors Chemistry here at Thompson High School.
I was born in St. Louis, Missouri and was raised in a town called Kennesaw, Georgia which is about 20min NW of Atlanta. I graduated high school in 2010 and went to college at Auburn University. I earned a bachelor of science degree from Auburn in 2014 with a major in Zoology and a minor in General Business. I then took a year of working as a field biologist which including working on a research project in south Alabama assessing populations of gopher tortoises in Conecuh National Forest. In 2015 I decided to pursue a masters degree in Poultry Science with focus in physiology. I graduated with my master of science degree in 2017 and spent then next year living in Houston, TX while my wife worked at MD Anderson Cancer Hospital. My time in Houston sparked my interest in education, and I became certified to teach in 2018. I taught at Lumberton High School in Lumberton, TX for a year while also coaching football and baseball. We decided to move back to Alabama in 2019 and the rest, as they say, is history.
I have been married to my wife, Dianna (a THS graduate funny enough), for 5 years now and we have three awesome dogs: Storm, Ivory and Moose. I enjoy many things in life, some of which include sports, boardgames and videogames, reading, and musicals to name a few. Teaching has been a wonderful experience thus far and I am excited to share my knowledge of Chemistry to all who come through my doors. I look forward to a great 2020-2021 school year.
