     "Mrs. G"

Kayla Gough grew up in Alabaster and graduated from Thompson High School in 2012. She continued her education at the University of Montevallo and attained her Bachelor of Science in Art degree in 2015; immediately following graduation, she pursued a Masters degree in Education. After graduating in 2017, Mrs. G started her teaching career at McAdory Elementary School in McCalla, Alabama where she
serviced K-5 th grades.
Mrs. G is excited to be back with the Thompson Warriors  as a teacher so she can give back to the community that she grew up in. In addition to being a visual arts teacher, she is also an actively
practicing fine artist. Her personal artwork concentrates on drawing, mixed media, and experimentation with process and texture. Mrs. G is inspired by significant people in her life as well as impactful
experiences and locations when making art; the theme of identity and family are often present in her artwork. She believes that art is a skill that can be honed through practice and discipline.
Mrs. G got engaged in December 2017 and married October 11, 2019! Her new last name is now Mrs. Glass, but as fortune has it, students still call her Mrs. G! She loves to read in every spare minute she has to herself, loves to collect old books, and dreams of one day having a huge library in her house. Her furbaby is a 90 lb. German Shepherd dog who thinks she is as small as a Chihuahua. Mrs. G loves to hike, cook, travel, crochet, collect vinyl records, and play video games as well. Batman is her favorite comicbook character, she has an identical twin sister named Kaitlyn, rescued animals are the best, Purple Victory, Roll Tide!
