I am the 6th grade counselor at Thompson Middle School. Serving as a counselor in the middle school setting is my passion and I am grateful to have the opportunity to support all students so they can be successful academically, socially, and emotionally. I belief that in partnership with parents, we can bring out the best in all of our students and equip them with lifelong skills that will carry them successfully into adulthood!
2019-2020 is the first year for the 6th grade to be reunited with the 7th and 8th grades and we are so excited to be back together! TMS is a great place to be and has so much to offer our students. This is going to be a great year for all of us!
Here is a quick introduction: I was born and raised in Pennsylvania. I studied psychology and education at Grove City College and then studied educational and developmental psychology in graduate school. I worked as a School Psychologist for several years until career choices led our family to move to Alabama. I decided to make a slight career change and added a certification in School Counseling so that I could work directly with students! We have lived in Alabama for 16 years and love raising our family here. We love the warm weather of Alabama and the warm kindness of the people! In my free time, I like spending time with my family and friends, doing anything outside like walking, running or cycling and I love reading books.
