Mrs. Charli Lindley-Hamlin
I'm Charli Hamlin (Lindley-Hamlin is my full last name), and I am proud to be a Thompson Warrior! I am so excited to continue being a partof the Warrior family and have the opportunity to invest in the comunity I live in! As an Alabaster citizen and a parent, having a great school system is important and affects me, too. We are going to grow and flourish, and become a stronger community because of the involvement of our students and citizens. I love to be involved in community events and functions, and I believe that stronger communities create a healthy environment for kids to learn. I love to see members of our city becoming more and more involved with the school and its students. After all, these are the Champions of our Future! They are going to be changing the world for us one day, so let's help them grow in that direction!
A little about myself: I am from the small mountain ski town of Sun Valley, Idaho;. I'm a former UAB student-athlete (I played volleyball) and I hold a Bachelor's of Arts in Foreign Languages and Literatures-Spanish. I'm also a University of Montevallo alum (I hold a Master's Degree in Instructional Leadership/Education Administration).
At the end of my undergraduate program, I took a study abroad trip to Jaen, Spain, which changed my life. A person really does not appreciate his or her own culture until they spend an extended period of time away from it. I really encourage my students to travel and see and learn about different cultures, even if that just means leaving the Southeast U.S. Because of my experiences traveling and visiting other places, I love to encourage my students to get out and see the world in any way they can. My class is fun, energetic, and varied; but it is also challenging and requires hard work. I am looking forward to seeing your child learn and grow in my class, and to give him or her knowledge that can be used in real life.
I am a big believer in positive thinking and acting, and my major focus will be on providing your children with skills that they will carry with them throughout life, such as:
Collaboration/Working with Colleagues and Peers
While it is important that students learn the content of my class, I think that it is far more important that they be able to apply these worldly skills and be prepared for life after high school. Each of the above mentioned skills is something that your child will need to be successful in the work force, and my goal is to teach as many of these skills as possible through the Spanish language and culture.
Please feel free to email me at any time. I truly love to hear from parents; your involvement has a direct correlation with your child's rate of success! I sincerely look forward to helping you grow a future leader and world-changer.
Thank you for being a part of our journey to success!
