Ms. Natalie Allen
My name is Natalie Allen. I have been the Thompson HS choral director since fall of 2000. I have worked with all ages from pre-schoolers to adults in vocal production, vocal repertoire, and general theory. I teach vocal skills, music theory, and stage presence. My background lies in many areas such as vocal skills and production, performance techniques, and musical theater. I have two grown daughters, one is a graphic designer for a branding company in Birmingham and one is an IVF Coordinator in Tennessee. I also am very involved in Sweet Adelines International, a music organization for 4 part a cappella barbershop music.
I have been teaching in the public school system for 25 years. I have worked with kindergarten age through seniors in high school on good vocal production, stage presence, and posture. I have also worked with children’s church choirs for 16 years, focusing on good singing in a Christian environment. Outside of my professional career, I also coach Sweet Adeline choruses and quartets that range in age 14 – 80, with a focus on good vocal production, stage presence, staging, and choreography.
