Bachelor's in Math Education
Mrs. Beth Ronilo
I graduated from Chelsea High School in 1995 and Mississippi State University in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in Math Education. I am married to Billy who is a physical therapist and have two boys. Jack is 15 and loves playing basketball and Tate is 11 and loves Star Wars and Legos. We have a goldendoodle named Buster who loves walks and being petted. In my spare time, I like to read and watch tv.
This is my 22nd year teaching and my 17th year at Thompson High. I graduated from Mississippi State University in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in Math Education. I taught math at Chelsea High School from 1999 to 2002 where I taught Algebra I, Algebra A, Algebra B, Math in Society, Precalculus, Honors Precalculus, and Algebra III with Stats. I then moved to St Simons Island, Georgia where I taught at Glynn Academy High School in Brunswick, GA from 2002 to 2004. There, I taught Precalculus, Algebra I, Geometry, Concepts of Algebra, and pre-algebra. In 2004, I moved back to Birmingham and have been teaching at Thompson since. At THS I have taught Algebra I, Algebra A, Algebra B, Algebra II, Algebra II w/ trig, pre-AP Algebra II w/ trig, Precalculus, pre-AP Precalculus, Calculus, AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus BC.
This will be my 9th year teaching AP Calculus. I really enjoy teaching seniors because I know I am preparing them to take math in college. My goal is for all of my students to be successful in college math with the knowledge they learned in high school.
