• Greetings & Salutations! I was born in Birmingham, Alabama and a graduate of Woodlawn Magnet High School. I received my Bachelors of Arts degree from Talladega College. I love reading, research and public speaking and acquired a degree in English LIterature with a minor in Journalism. I still have hopes of one day being the next Oprah or at least discovering the next one in my language arts classroom.

I  taught language arts for 24 years in sunny South Florida. My teaching portfolio not only includes teaching language arts but also journalism, drama, leadership skills & development and SAT Prep. In my tenure, I have not only assisted students but I also served as a trainer for the NTA (New Teacher Academy) for Broward County Schools (Florida) in order to help new teachers navigate the system in order to become a master teacher.

I not only teach 7th Grade Language Arts but I also teach TV Broadcasting to 8th graders. This class creates amazing videos and provides useful information to students and their parents on Instagram. FOLLOW us @TMSBroadcasting.

My son and I made the 800 mile treck from the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area to Birmingham June (2017) in order to be closer to family and we are elated to be part of Alabaster City Schools. Cheers to entering my fifth year here at Thompson Middle School! The faculty and staff are amazing and I elated to be a member :)
