Mr. Michael Wilbanks

Michael Wilbanks is beginning his twenty-first year of teaching, all at Thompson Middle School.  After graduating from THE University of Alabama - ROLL TIDE ROLL! - he eventually found his way to Alabaster by way of Albertville.  Since then, he has received a master's degree from the University of Montevallo in secondary education ('02) and then from Samford University ('13) in gifted education.  He also has been coaching soccer for twenty-two years and counting.

Along the way, Michael Wilbanks has continued to strive to be the best father to his now twenty-three-year-old son and husband to his wife who is the principal at Pelham High School. He is also a member of the vestry at his church, Holy Spirit Episcopal Church in Alabaster, and he is also active in community theater, primarily with South City Theater.  If he's not acting in a show, he will be working the box office.

** EDIT:  Parents, on 16 May '19, I visited the 7th grade GRC classes and passed out the summer reading assignment.  If your student has "lost" his/her assignment, you can print out a replacement in the FORMS tab of my webpage.  This assignment is due when school starts! **
