Ms. Carol G. Dillon
I was born and raised in Alabama and graduated from Greenville High School. After high school and many years, I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Language Arts Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After teaching for a few years I decided to go back to school so I graduated with a double Master's degree in Language Arts Education and Administration from the University of Montevallo. Finally, I graduated with my Education Specialist degree in Instructional Leadership from the University of Montevallo.
I have two daughters. Ashley and Jessica are grown now, but both graduated from Thompson High School and the University of Alabama. Even though they both graduated from Alabama, we are all Auburn fans. War Eagle! Now that Ashley and Jessica are grown, Doug and I stay busy with our dogs, Riley and Razzi.
The 2020-21 school year is my 24th year of teaching. All of those years have been at Thompson Middle School. Alabaster is the best place to live and teach. It's been a pleasure teaching so many children here. I may even be on the second generation for some.
I love teaching seventh graders. It is such an extraordinary year in a child's life. They come into seventh grade as children and leave as teenagers. There are so many changes through the year that there is never a dull moment. I love watching my students transform.
This year is extraordinary. There will be bumps along the way, but with patience and flexibility, we'll make it through. I can wait to meet my new students!
