Welcome to 5th grade! My name is Cheryl Dominguez and this is my 10th year at Thompson Intermediate. This is my twelth year as a classroom teacher. I taught for 2 1/2 years in Southern California, before returning to school in Mexico. Upon completion of my program in Mexico, I joined my family in Alabama. I again continued my education, pursuing a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. Upon graduation I started teaching at TIS. I love teaching all subjects, but am most fond of reading. I love seeing children excited about reading and begging for more time to read!
This is my 10th year as a Student Council sponsor. I am passionate about helping students grow into leaders in their school and community.
I am married and have one son, Tivet, a 5th grader at TIS. As a family, we enjoy traveling, the beach, and soccer!
I love what I do, because I do what I love. There is no greater desire of my heart than to see the minds and eyes of young people light up as they demand greatness from themselves in all that they attempt. I challenge each student to be better today, than they were yesterday!
