Biography

My name is Kimberly Shelby and  I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year. I am sure this year will bring lots of learning & fun for your child! I grew up in the small, just right town of Greenville, Al (off I-65S on the way to the beach).

I am a country girl to the bone and loves nothing more than a nice quiet evening rocking on the back porch, riding the four wheeler, fishing, or taking a walk in the pasture. I attended Butler County Schools all throughout school and went on to Lurleen B. Wallace Jr. College. After Jr. College, I attended the University of Montevallo where I earned my Bachelor's degree.

I am married to my wonderfully supportive husband and we have a three year old daughter who keeps us very busy! Aside from school, I enjoy attending church and working in ministry, reading, four wheeler riding, and of course, shopping!

Education

I graduated from the University of Montevallo with a BS in K-6 Elementary Education in the Fall of 2011. I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Instructional Leadership from the University of West Alabama. I expect to graduate in May of 2018!

Experience

Upon graduating from the University of Montevallo in 2011, I was hired on at Elvin Hill Elementary in Columbiana as the Kindergarten Math & Reading Interventionist for a short period of time. After that, I became a sub for schools across Shelby County including Meadow View Elementary. Prior to subbing, I had been employed with the Shelby County After-School Care program for two years as counselor, In-Charge, & Site Secretary. I am entering my 6th year teaching First Grade, and I am thrilled to begin a wonderful year!
