I am orignially from North Alabama and graduated from Boaz High School. I graduated from The Universtiy of Alabama at Birmningham with my undergraduate degree in Art Studio/Painting and Photography. After completing an internship with adults with autism spectrum disorders, I changed the direction of my career to education and began working as a paraprofessional at Mithcell's Place, a comprehensive treatment cetner for students with autism specturm disorders. During my time there, I received my masters degree from UAB in the area of Early CHildhood Special Edcuation and moved to a lead teacher posotion at MItchell's Place.
After a few years teaching in the preschool classroom, I began working in Consulation and Training at Glenwood. During this time, I provided support to students of all ages, their families, and varous school systems throuhgouht the state. After my time there, I began working as in independent consulant for children and families, providing support to schools, home environments and various community resouces. I gained expereince working with social skill groups with a local social skills provider and gained public school exerpeince as a teacher in a local county school system.
I am looking forward to collaborting with my new school family and am excited to start the 2017-2018 school year!
