Shannon Rose

Mrs. Shannon Rose is currently the assistant principal of Thompson Sixth Grade Center. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Alabama in Multiple Abilities (1996) with an endorsement in elementary education and mild learning behavior disabilities. Mrs. Rose then went on to the University of Montevallo where she received her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education in 2001 and in Educational Administration in 2003.

Mrs. Rose worked as a special education teacher at Hueytown Elementary School from 1996-2000.  Mrs. Rose then came to Shelby County where she taught 4th and 5th grade special education, second grade, and fifth grade before becoming the assistant principal at Helena Intermediate in 2007. Mrs. Rose came to Thompson in 2009 when Thompson Sixth Grade Center opened its doors.

Mrs. Rose believes in promoting a strong work ethic and nurturing a love for learning in all of her students and faculty. Her goal is to see students become well rounded and self-confident.   Mrs. Rose is married to Coleman White and they have two children, Matthew and Colton. Her interests include spending quality time with family, reading, and traveling.
