Superintendent's Student Advisory Committee
The mission of the Alabaster City Schools is to partner with families and the community to inspire and prepare graduates to be responsible and productive champions of their future.
The purpose of the Superintendent's Student Advisory Committee (SSAC) is to embrace our mission to prepare responsible and productive graduates by providing student stakeholders a voice in the development of Alabaster City Schools.
Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee members are student representatives from each of the five Alabaster City Schools, who are nominated and selected by school administrators based on the character and leadership of each student. Committee members serve a maximum of two years; at the end of the second academic calendar, school administrators will nominate and select new representatives to serve as SSAC members.
Working with the Superintendent and other school system staff, on behalf of the student body SSAC members will be expected to:
· Attend scheduled meetings
· Express views and opinions openly, constructively, and respectfully
· Work collaboratively to assess concerns, implement solutions and explore innovative ideas
The committee meets with Dr. Vickers or designee once a semester at Alabaster City Schools Central Office, 10111 Highway 119, Alabaster, AL 35007.
Elementary school committee meetings are 8:30 – 9:30 am
Middle/High school committee meetings are 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
