ART STUDIO D-107
Welcome to Studio D-107! This is a space dedicated to the planning and creation of many kinds of visual art. It is a safe space for experimentation and making mistakes in the creative process.
Art class is HANDS-ON. You will be engaging in many activities in this studio that require Creative Thinking, Problem Solving and actual Making skills. Some things you may already know how to do and others you won’t, but be open and willing to TRY NEW THINGS and LEARN.
“It’s only when you risk failure that you discover things. When you play it safe, you’re not expressing the utmost of your human experience.”
- Lupita Nyong’o
A couple of things to remember as you begin (or continue) your journey in art:
-
Have fun, this is Art Class!
-
Do your BEST work
-
It’s okay not to like your artwork, but keep working! You never know what might happen throughout the process
A few Studio Rules:
-
NO PHONES. EVER. FOR ANY REASON. NON-NEGOTIABLE.
-
You may talk quietly...BUT NOT WHEN THE TEACHER IS TALKING.
-
EARBUDS/AIRPODS ARE AN ISSUE OF SAFETY AND FOCUS. If you can’t hear me, you are not focused and UNSAFE. They are not allowed in the studio.
-
PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR SURROUNDINGS: STOP, LOOK AND LISTEN.
-
NO EXCUSES!
Now let’s see what we can make…
