Mrs. Ann Jay Harrison
My name is Ann Jay Harrison. My husband, Mike and I have lived in Alabaster for 21 years. We have two boys, Michael (20) and Lloyd (15). I graduated from Samford University with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education in 1991 and a Masters of Education from Montevallo University in 2004. This will be my 27th year of teaching but this is only my 14th year at Thompson Intermediate. The past 2 summers I have had the privilege of being selected to attend the following seminars: Gilder Lehrman at Princeton University, George Washington Teacher Institute at Mount Vernon, and Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute at Colonial Williamsburg.
I am from Aliceville, Alabama, and I love geneology. My family came to Alabama in the 1830s, and the house my grandfather built still stands in Carrollton, Alabama. I have just been approved this year into membership of the Daughters of the Amercian Revolution David Lindsey Chapter. My 4th great grandfather, Meredith Taylor was a member of the South Carolina miltia. I also have a 7th great grandmother who received a statue in her honor at the Battle of Guilford Courthouse.
