I grew up in Homewood, AL where I was heavily involved in the choir programs through Homewood City Schools and Dawson Memorial Baptist Church. After that, I received an undergraduate degree in Music with my concentration in Vocal Performance from the University of Montevallo. Soon after, I returned to the University of Montevallo to earn my masters in Music Education. I am married to Ezequiel Herenu and we have two children. Our son is a second grader at MVES and our daughter is three years old. This will be my ninth year teaching at TIS and I have enjoyed every second of learning with my students through singing, dancing, playing, creating and performing.
